Flexible plywood is achieved by laying each individual layer (Ply), with the grain direction running the same way on all the layers that make up the panel. Normally in plywood, each alternative layer (ply) would be turned 90 degrees to each other, to achieve the rigidity / strength we accustomed to in normal plywood.
To help you choose the correct variation achievable with flexible plywood. we use the following terminology. Either long grain or short grain. The first dimension on the sheet size indicates which way the plywood will bend. 1) 2440mm x 1220mm (Long Grain) would make a tall thin tube when rolled up 2) 1220mm x 2440mm (Cross Grain) would make a short fat tube when rolled up. |
